Childrens Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS)
The Childrens Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) was first introduced in January 2014 and is a much needed dental benefits program provided by Medicare, for eligible families with children aged 2 to 17 years. Families must be receiving Family Tax Benefit A to be eligible and the amount of dental benefits available is capped at $1000 per eligible patient over two consecutive calendar years.
Once a child has been assessed as eligible, they are eligible for that entire calendar year – even if they don’t turn 2 until later in the year, turn 18 that year, or stop receiving the relevant government payment.
Although most children will be informed of their eligibility at the start of each year, routine checks will be performed throughout the year to determine newly eligible children.
Subject to the conditions of the scheme, Goodison Dental Services are pleased to be able to offer:
- Examinations
- X-rays
- Scale and Cleans
- Flouride Treatments
- Fissure Sealants
- Restorations (fillings) and
- Extractions
All with NO OUT OF POCKET expense to the patient!
The team at Goodison Dental Services are passionate about providing all their patients with the highest standard of professional dental care, and welcome the Childrens Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) initiative as an opportunity to educate the younger community members in the importance of maintaining good oral care habits for long term dental health.
Medicare Australia have sent out letters to most eligible families with further information about the scheme and its benefits, although if you are unsure of your families’ eligibility, please do not hesitate to contact our practice with your Medicare card details, or call Centrelink direct.
New patients are always Welcome.
