Cathryn is a registered dental hygienist; she graduated as Dux of her class and received the Oral B Foundation Award for Excellence in Preventative Dentistry. She also holds a Master of Health Promotion from Deakin University. Cathryn has had a diverse career for 40 years in both the public and private dental sector; working in general practice, orthodontics, periodontics and special needs dentistry. Cathryn has practiced in many parts of the world, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Ballarat, Neuss (Germany) and Wellington (New Zealand). In 1999, Cathryn became the first dental hygienist to practice at Goodison Dental.
Cathryn brings with her extensive clinical knowledge and experience, and has been a valued member of the Colgate Scientific Affairs Team since 2006, working closely with the University and TAFE sectors to educate the future dental profession. She presents regularly at dental conferences across Australia and has presented at international conferences in Italy, South Korea, New Zealand and Vanuatu.
Cathryn is currently the Oral Health Association of Australia (OHAA) VIC TAS Chair and OHAA representative on the Australian Dental Association (Victorian Branch) Oral Health Committee and the Victorian Oral Health Alliance. In 2025 Cathryn became an inaugural Fellow in Advanced Dental Hygiene, with the Australasian College of Oral Health Practitioners. Cathryn was a member of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia (DHAA) since 1988 and was honoured with DHAA Life Membership in 2024.
Cathryn served 10 years as National Network Coordinator for Oral Health with Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health. She spent 13 years as a Carevan Foundation Board Director and lead for the Sun Smiles community fluoride varnish program. Cathryn is currently program lead for the SmileCARE oral health in aged care project.
Cathryn has won several international awards including the 2023 International Federation of Dental Hygienist’s (IFDH) Social Responsibility Award, the 2016 IFDH & Global Child Dental Fund Social Responsibility Award and the 2018 DHAA National Oral Health Award. Cathryn has authored 2 children’s oral health books ‘Who is the Tooth Fairy’s best friend?’ and “Pyjama Fairy & Friends.”
Upon graduating from Melbourne University in 1987 as a Dental Therapist, Anne commenced employment with the School Dental Service in Gippsland (both Warragul and Moe), where she stayed for the next two and a half years. From there she moved to Perth and commenced a 12-month stint with the Western Australia School Dental Service.
Finally settling in North East Victoria, Anne worked with the School Dental Service in both Wodonga and Wangaratta, dividing her time between the two locations.
Anne joined the team at Goodison Dental Services in April 2005 as their first ever Dental Therapist, and since then has worked hard to build the Therapy department into the very busy, reputable section of the practice it is today.
Anne is committed to helping younger patients become confident and comfortable in a dental environment, while focusing on preventative care for continuing oral health.
Having grown up in Wangaratta, Maddy has always wanted to give back to the community she calls home. Maddy completed a bachelor of Oral Health at Charles Sturt University in 2021 and has since gained experience in both private and public sectors. Additionally, she contributes to educating and tutoring future oral health therapists at Charles Sturt University.
Maddy has a passion for paediatric patients, ensuring they develop a positive relationship with their oral health. Maddy is also passionate about prevention and the role it plays in overall health.
In her spare time Maddy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, she enjoys a good breakfast and the outdoors.
Carly is a dedicated Oral Health Therapist who strives to make every patient feel comfortable and at ease. After previously working in the dental industry as a Dental Assistant, she went on to further her studies and graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelors of Oral Health Therapy and Hygiene, bringing current clinical knowledge and valuable hands-on experience to her practice. Carly completed several clinical placements in regional communities similar to Wangaratta, where she developed a strong appreciation for providing friendly, approachable care helping her connect easily with patients from all walks of life.
Carly has confidently adapted to her role within the practice, delivering hygiene care for adult patients while also providing dental therapy services for children and young adults up to 25 years of age.
Outside of work, Carly enjoys keeping active, travelling, and discovering new restaurants, as well as spending quality time with family and friends. She looks forward to welcoming you to the clinic and seeing you in person soon.
